Disgraced, overthrown, and chased from his lands, Daelan was once a powerful king, beloved by his people and renowned for his kindness. After a coup led by his corrupt council, Daelan's good name was smothered by lies and allegations of misconduct. Unable to argue the might of the lords he once trusted, Daelan was banished from his lands, and was told that should he return, he would be executed.

Now, the once-royal travels throughout Sornieth, living as nothing more than a mercenary; taking jobs here and there for whatever money he can, staying in rundown inns when he can afford it, and doing his level best to remain nameless. He is occasionally recognized, be it by merchants that once served him or by enemies that once sought to bring him down, and he is always quick to leave town whenever he suspects someone might know who he once was.
