Although her parents didn't seem too alarmed, or perhaps they hid it well, little Cecropia was concerned about the stiffness of her wings. Her two brothers, Archenar and Seref, weren't concerned about theirs but as soon as they realized she was, they began to tease. She blinked her rare Light eyes often, causing even more taunts.

"Dark Lights! That's not a Light - that's a Dark!"

She heard that many times as they flashed their alloy wings at her. She wasn't as happy with alloy as they were - she much preferred her mother's butterfly wings but such is the way of the Random Goddess. She didn't plan a future in Windsinger's army as they did.

She was quite surprised to learn that a Weyr Spirit had contacted beaq, asking if Milesa's daughter was going to be available for adoption to another weyr. At first, Cecropia thought her brothers were teasing yet again or perhaps the Shadow Emissary was playing a trick. She had heard Shadow dragons were confirmed tricksters. But then, in whirlwind fashion, the Spiral had swooped her up onto his back, claiming he would carry her and her stiff hatchling wings to her new home.

The little Guardian was thrilled. Then, even better than she could imagine, her secret desire was answered. The alchemist of Moonlit Nyyt Weyr had raided the weyr's vault and purchased the magicks needed for matching her mother's glorious wings plus another change to Coatl. Cecropia was thrilled - and just a little frightened.

"All of this is for me?"

'Yes, my dear." Shadymum smiled. "Sleep now and when you wake, your wings will flutter and your shape will curve. Well, once you grow into it, that is. But before then, you will be a Coatl hatchling - perhaps the cutest of all the dragons of Sornieth."

Now Cecropia is learning the ways of her new home. She is bonding with an extremely amazing familiar who seems to flash different colors every time she looks at him. She also received a mandala from another of the weyr dragons. It's quite delicate and intricate; she would like to learn how to make them. Perhaps, when she is older, they will become a team. But for now, she enjoys flying with her familiar and the other members of Moonlit Nyyt.
