Biography

they've had countless near death experiences, but still won't give up.

Korra tries her hardest, but every time she tries to help, she ends up messing

things up. Yes, she has defended the city from multiple terrible threats, but not fast enough.

Whenever she manages to defeat one of these threats, the damage has already been done - whether

it be the destruction of the local sports team, wrecking an ancient cycle of magic, or the takeover of

half the Earth Flight (Kuvira, no!). Nonetheless, she considers herself to be a protector, although the

city agrees: we need to make money to hire a protector that’s not Korra. She still puts her

heart into everything she does, and despite multiple near-death experiences, she still won’t give

up.

Darkmoonbreeder (308141) :
The cry for help rang across the ice.
This is it! the blue wildclaw thought. "They'll FINALLY believe I can protect them!! As she scrambled across the ice she tripped and almost slid off an ice floe. Scrambling back onto her feet, she began to run again. After tripping over her own feet at least five more times, she made it to the dragon in distress. A huge orca was attacking a pale pink skydancer. Korra leaped fearlessly into the battle and fought off the orca. It almost killed her and Pearl(the skydancer) but Korra didn't care. She had defended a clan mate again!! Surely THIS time they would trust her.

TheDarkReaper (407442):
The first thing any dragon thinks when they hear the distinct click-click of Korra's claws coming towards them is: oh, deities. Why is she here? Sure, she only wants to be helpful, but you'd think after all this time she'd start getting the message. She isn't wanted as a hero here.

But Korra knows this. She knows this well. The rest of the Clan doesn't want her here, that much is obvious, but to her, that makes it all the more important that she stays. After all, the ones who need to be saved are never the ones who want to be saved.

AuguryDemon (270513):
No one seemed to believe in her and while Korra was a fierce believer in focusing on the positive regardless of what the situation was, even she was beginning to have doubts. Surely there were other dragons who could do her job better, who could protect the clan without breaking everything. The strong winds already caused enough damage to the clan, she doubted they wanted a clumsy wildclaw making it worse. With a sigh, the blue dragon slumped and continued to watch the hathlings play a dozen feet in front of her. Hearing her name, she perked up and watched as they played. The little dragons were pretending to be heroes and fight off bad guys and one little female had gleefully shouted that she was Korra. The grin on the hatchlings face was bright but it wasn’t even close in comparison to the blue wildclaw’s grin. This was why did her job. So that the hatchlings could play safely without worry of any danger ruining their games. With that thought, Korra closed her eyes, falling asleep to the sounds of hatchlings playing hero.

swaggiep34 (280572):
Korra breathed in the crisp winter air, closing her eyes as feathery snowflakes drifted onto her wings. It had snowed more than usual this year; the hatchlings had requested snow taffy. This was a special treat in the Ice Kingdom, because it was so difficult to start a fire in order to heat the honeycomb. Korra had tried. She even had the fire started already. What could anyone possibly mess up about simply heating a piece of honeycomb and then putting snow over it? There was nothing to it. And yet...

"It was an accident," she had said miserably. "I didn't mean to set it on fire. Who lives in a straw hut during winter, anyway?" Lance nodded with sympathy. "Uh huh. Sure." He patted her head and strutted away. Korra had huffed and stomped off. If no one can take me seriously, she figured, why even bother? She already knew the answer. It was because no matter what, she always hoped that one day she would do something right, something big, and then they would respect her. One day. Until then, she would have to keep trying.. and trying... and trying.

One day. Soon, I hope.

Cazrel (114847):
Today's the day, Korra thought to herself, full of determination as she gazed at her reflection in the frozen lake. There were screams and shouts coming from nearby, and she just knew it was her time to shine. First, she would fight off whatever needed to be fought off, then she would do some aftercare, some socialising, boost the city's morale... then she would set up wards in place so it would never happen again, everyone would cheer, flowers would be thrown, she would get a really cool badge a bit like the one she'd made herself but better that said City Protector and wear it with pride so that everyone knew she how much she cared... She gave herself a quick wink and a grin, then trotted along to the source of the problem.

"Never fear, Korra's here!" she yelled, tumbling through some bushes. A Spiral sighed and shook her head.

"It was a Beastclan raid, they stole a lot from us, now they're gone," she droned in a monotone. It was almost as if she was used to this happening.

"Oh," Korra muttered dejectedly, casting her eyes to the ground. But it didn't take long for her to bounce back. "Quick, Nyciia, where did they go!" she barked, more a statement than a question. Nyciia pointed tiredly to the right. "Never mind, I'll track them!" Korra said excitedly, and she was off like a shot in the opposite direction.

Snickershine ( 112924):
You see Korra. She is the actual worst.
Have you ever seen someone with worse physical coordination? No. Because the way she moves makes it seem like she was deprived of oxygen at birth.

She trips, she falls. You give her a task? Let her hold something? She'll break it.

But does she learn? No. Someone should just put her in a room and tell her not to move.
That actually happened one time but after five minutes they felt bad and let her come out. But then regretted it immediately when she knocked over an entire shelf of glass bottles ten minutes later.

The sad part is she has great strength and isn't to bad in the brain department. But she's terrible at making decisions.

Someone should push her into a frozen lake.
Someone tried one time but here she is.

Korra wants to prove herself. But that'll never happen. Feel bad for Korra.

JasperDragons (392748):
Korra was watching a small hatchling playing near the cliff. She couldn't trust it. She had to help it.. somehow. Korra slowly walked towards the small hatchling. She slowly grabbed it, dragged it away from the cliff, but suddenly, she slipped. She quickly let go of the hatchling so it could be safe on the land. Korra, in a panic, moved herself towards the water. She landed with a big splash in the water. Although Korra was wet and breathing heavily, she was happy that the hatchling wasn't hurt.

Ryuichi (410374):
Claws skid against rocks as Korra desperately chases down a band of thieves, having already missed being able to stop the robbery to begin with. Her mind races with regrets, once again unable to stop any damage from being caused. It was beginning to weigh on her, the inability to complete her protecting tasks in a fully successful manner. She needed to get her act together, a fear that eventually they'd actually find someone who could do better.
While these thoughts flooded through her head, she found herself mis-stepping and stumbling down a rocky hill, bowling into the thieves she was chasing. The thieves let out a shout as Korra slammed into them, immediately pinning them both under her body as she did. She quickly pulled herself up and retrieved the treasure she'd knocked out of their claws in the collision. She triumphally made her way back to return the stolen goods to their rightful owner.

She may be bad at getting it done without damage, but at least she got her job done.

Jobie (7289):
Korra jetted over the icefields. Her nails scratched against the solid ice as she neared her destination. She stopped at the cliff and looked down below - there were hatchlings playing in the gorge. LIttle did they know there was a giant bear coming their way. “Hey guys,” she bellowed down the cliff. Two innocent playful faces looked up at her. “There’s a bear coming, run!” A look of panic washed over their faces at her words and she felt proud. Then she felt rumbling beneath her. The ground started to move - an avalanche! She cried out in desperation and flew to the running hatchlings. She tossed the hatchlings onto her back - luckily they were a Skydancer and Fae. Then she took off into the air to avoid the snow tumbling down the mountainside. The two little hatchlings clung to Korra as she took them back home. She beratted herself for her mistake. She knew loud noises cause avalanches. At least she’d saved them from the bear, right? Back at home there was bad news. Because of the avalanche their plant food source was buried. They’d have to find another one, or dig beneath piles of snow. Korra felt like she couldn’t do anything right, but she would never stop trying.

a hero to many
she'd like to become,
her wits and merit
better than some
but to please her city
she'll have to agree
that in their best interest,
which may be hard to see,
she must stay away

to control the damage
that's giving them strife

DragonLife4Me (405978):
Wildclaws are elite hunters who's stealth and fighting skills are second to none and it is unwise to challenge one without support. Now, what would happen if a glorious wildclaw was adept at fighting, but not so much protecting?

"We hired an experienced protector, and they gave us what, this?" Hawk, a Skydancer and her most recent boss, gestured to her. "You're a sorry excuse for one. What's the point of fighting off the beast clans, IF THEY'VE ALREADY DESTROYED OUR HOME! HUH?" He pushed her out the door, but continued to drill her with questions. "Why, what's your excuse? You were present when they invaded, why didn't you stop them?"

"I don't know why, okay! I'm sorry, I really am! I-I'll get them next time!" Korra begged as she was thrown out of yet another nearly decimated clan. She looked down at her black, blood stained claws and whined.

"Don't come back." Hawk snarled and stalked away. Korra wept. She had failed countless times, all ending with consequences ranging from a single bite from a misbehaved hatching, to an entire clan falling because of a beast clan raid. She was forced out of her original clan for the same reasons, being unable to protect.

A shadow cast over her, and she looked up. Standing before her was her Nocturne friend, Montgomery. "I'm here to clean up the mess you made... again. Better luck next time." He smirked and walked into what was left of the clan. Korra glanced over at her familiar, a Polarfreeze Defender, who was always by her side, and put her wing around him. He growled softly and nuzzled her. "Come on, we won't fail this time." She said, suddenly filled with determination, and strutted into the distance, in search for a city to truly protect.

ffae (399189):
“You need to stop,” the healer says—murmurs, really, voice edged with something like warning, but it falls on deaf ears. Korra’s head aches as she pushes her way upright, then up, already on her way out of the healer’s den.

The Spiral winds herself in front of the door, eyes slit.

“You’re injured,” she says, a near hiss, and ushers Korra back to where she’d been laying mere moments ago. She feels powerless when each step hurts just a little more than the last, head throbbing the longer she keeps her eyes open, but she needs to help. There’s still people who need her, aren’t there?

She hears the flutter of wings—the healer, no doubt preparing some herbal concoction to get her out there sooner—and feels the rough slip of bandages when she finally settles down, grimace forthcoming. “I need to help,” Korra mutters, eyes shutting.

And there it is: an exasperated sigh, no doubt paired with an eyeroll or something similar. She hates that she’s grown used to the lack of patience when people discover how poor she is at helping, protecting, but—the Spiral only asks, “Who?”

Korra opens her eyes to stare at the Spiral, inhaling sharply. This isn’t who she thought it was: her Clan’s healer, a wiry thing that was kind but rough around the edges, but someone—else.

The healer comes closer, checking the bandages with hushed instructions for Korra not to move. “You’re badly injured,” she says, “but I should be able to get you out of here by the end of the week.”

“Where’s my Clan?” Korra blurts, reaching for the Spiral like it’ll reveal the answers she needs so badly.

“Nowhere near you,” she answers, tapping Korra’s forehead once before slinking out of view. “I found you alone, badly beaten, and figured that someone ought to save you before you died.”

Pain—and not physical pain, the real sort of thing that comes when you realize you’ve been abandoned, left alone, forgotten—that pain grips Korra’s heart, and while the healer continues speaking, she can only think that she’s failed again.

ThatPerson (366354)
Korra dejectedly walked away from the city. Why didn’t they understand that she just wanted to help? It wasn’t HER fault the city sustained some minor damage! Well… Okay, maybe it was her fault, and maybe it wasn’t just some minor damage. But still! If she hadn’t expertly stopped that band of thieves, who knows how much more damage would have been done!

The dark-blue wildclaw stopped in her tracks as she heard a frantic cry for help. Korra couldn’t help but grin as adrenaline coursed through her veins. Another problem, another chance for Korra to prove that she really could protect the city! Rushing towards the shout, Korra skidded to a stop as she almost ran into the dragon calling for help; an old snapper who was looking up with a worried expression.

“What’s the problem, ma’am?” Korra asked, though the snapper hadn’t looked at her yet.

“My floracat is stuck in this tree!” she exclaimed, turning to look at Korra.

“Never fear, Korra is here! I’ll get your cat down, miss!” Korra promised, just as a look of horror flashed across the snapper’s face. She started to object, but Korra had already jumped at the tree, flapping her indigo wings as she tried to get to the floracat. There was a sudden loud CRACK, and Korra froze. Before she could do anything else, the tree fell under her weight and crashed to the ground…

Well, at least the snapper got her floracat back… but now Korra had to solve the new problem of freeing herself from the tree pinning her to the ground.

Gulfstream (417927):
It was sundown and all the dragon gathered to eat. Most of them had already started munching on insect legs, small birds, and other delicacies when she walked in. Korra, the disaster dragon. Many dragons began whispering. “It’s Korra!” “I thought she was supposed to be guarding the border!?” “Did you hear how she wreaked an entire village in an attempt to protect it from a centaur?” “I heard that she’s late to every battle.” “How hasn’t she been fired yet?” To the other dragons, Korra didn’t seem to hear these whispers about her. .

In truth, Korra did hear everything but these harsh words didn’t phase her. That’s because everything they said was true. Her name was Korra and she was supposed to be guarding the border (she’s only here because she kinda blew up the border with explosives). She really did wreak an entire village in an attempt to protect it. She is normally late to every battle and Korra has no idea how she hasn’t been fired yet.

Korra quickly got her meal before rushing back out he room, dropping some crumbs of food in the process. She was heading to the training room to practice her new battle move, the double-talon-fiery-frenzy, witch she had invented herself. It needed some tweaking to keep it in control so she doesn’t blow up another building using it. As Korra got into a battle stance, she thought back to those harsh whispers. One day, they’d cheer when she entered the room. One day, Korra would succeed in defending a village from a monster. One day, everyone would know her name not as Korra the disaster dragon but as Korra the hero! And, maybe, that one day could be tomorrow. Korra shook her head to clear her mind but a smile was still on her face. She would keep trying and trying and, one day, she would be the hero.

NewfiesAtNASA (84866):
Korra fell straight into some poor dragon’s food stand, the wooden-based structure falling apart as the food fell straight onto her, making her look as if an artist went a bit crazy on the canvas. ‘Shoot! The criminal!!’ Shaking herself off, she ended up splattering everyone around her with different shades of the rainbow, and continued running after the masked dragon. It didn’t last for long, though, as she was caught in a crowd, and ended up knocking everyone over, including herself. “No, no, no! Please! Move out of the way!” the wildclaw roared, starting to flap her wings. If it wasn’t running that could keep her from falling, flying wouldn’t hurt. Except for the dragons she hit with her wide wings, but she took off nonetheless, determined to catch the rag-tag criminal.

They’d started a riot in the town, soon resorting to terrorizing the citizens, but Korra would never let that pass by. It finally stopped when she dove in, maybe a bit too fast, and pulled him to the ground. It was too bad that it was a smaller breed than her, easily wiggling out of the loose grip she had, and it became a wild goose chase from there. Now she soared above, scouting for the one that’d started all of this. It was the citizen’s lives on the line, she couldn’t let a slippery slug get away!

They totally ended up getting away after Korra had spotted them once more, serving up a nose dive just for them. They were a mastermind of seeing the obvious and hearing Korra screaming at them while she rushed down, so she ended up smashing into a building, which luckily didn’t collapse until she regained herself and went after the way that she thought the dragon went, but after a couple good minutes of being heavily disoriented and concussed, she ended up ramming into the wrong dragons that just happened to be a bit smaller than her. She looked around, finding almost all breakable things broken, ranging from vases to bones. The citizens were either murmuring or shouting curses at her, and she resorted back to scouting for the criminal, which seemed to go nowhere, and once dawn broke, she settled down on a rooftop, deciding that she’d look for them tomorrow. Even though she might’ve destroyed half of the area, she’d never stop until she got that unjustifiable pile of scales! No criminal could get away with terrorizing HER city! She’d make them pay tomorrow!

At the end of the day, Korra ended up being shooed off of the rooftop that she’d rested on, but it never stopped her plans to catch the villain, but the whole city knew that they’d need to clean up the town tenfold before she could put the plans in place, as it’d create even more destruction.

FrozenGlacier (430396):
Disaster had struck. And who was in the middle of it? Korra, of course. She had arrived at the scene of the crime to late, and attacked the dragon who committed the crime and was already tied up. Korra has leaped onto them, claws out and accidentally set them free.

happyasaclam (445839):
t’s actually a lot harder to rescue someone who’s fallen in a hole than it looks like, or how books and movies would like to make it seem. It seems like a simple task, but as Korra the Wildclaw is discovering…

It’s actually anything but.

“You said you’d get me out of here three hours ago!” The bedraggled Snapper says from the bottom of the hole. Korra grits her teeth as she leans against a tree near the mouth of the hole, putting a paw on her forehead and trying to think the situation out rationally. “I’m hungry!”

“Yeah, I know, if you just give me a minute I’ll try to think of something!” Korra shoots back. She’s tried using rope, string, tree branches, and even magic to lift them out of there, but so far nothing has worked. Maybe she’s just not strong enough? No, nonsense! Of course she’s strong enough. That’s a silly thing to even think and she should be appalled that her brain would even think to think it.

“I’ve got it! You alright with a little pain?” Korra asks. Before getting an answer, she swoops down, grabs the Snapper by the back with her talons, and pulls upwards as hard as she can.

There’s a little blood in the end, but it’s better than being stuck in that hole, Korra thinks.
