He hadn't received responses for months, and wondered if his brother was ill again, or if their letters were arriving at all... he heard claws rubbing against the stone floor and hid everything before an old pearlcatcher poked her ugly green-eyed gaze through the curtains and started to pester him with snake-like hisses, poisonous intent evident in his words:

-Hope you had not forgotten about that poor mirror that came with you, have you? We got message from his clan! He died from a fulminate sickness a month ago, and was buried in Foxfire's... I regret keeping you two together for so long, how I didn't see your monstrosity sooner. You... you should be ashamed."

So... that was why he wasn't answering anymore. Khan was as silent as always, but soon his mouth started to tremble as he lost the battle against his feelings.

That night he fled the Yggseed clan. The horizon grew darker as impending war continued to lay its shady hand over the clans fragile attempts at diplomacy.
