Silas

It is said that his great great grandfather was entrusted to keep an unfamiliar ring safe. The ring is full of powerful magic that is not understood and over the years the magic inside had leaked and unknowingly been soaking into each dragon as it was passed down.

When Saluviran was born his father gave him the ring.
Growing up he noticed he could create images out of thin air, eventually he could make stories. When his family found out they cast him away thinking he was evil. Magic was evil.
All he had was himself. He practiced all day and sometimes into the night until he was exhausted. He could finally control his power. On nights he feels lonely he creates happy, hopeful stories and blows them away like a bubble with one breath hoping they would make someone happier than he was. He called himself a Dreamcaster. He felt it was his duty to give hope to those who needed it the most. On his travels he would sit outside a clans den and just create happy dreams.
One day Saluviran found his parents. He was angry that they cast him out and lived like he never existed. They had new children and it seemed he had been replaced. Saluviran thought about all the things he would like to do that would destroy them all but instead wanted to do the right thing. He cast out dreams to his brothers and sisters. that night. He saved his parents for last. He cast out a dream about how they were wrong and he turned out quite alright and he missed them and wanted to come home, something to make them miss him but soon after casting out the dream he changed his mind. He wanted nothing to do with them. He chased their dream and decided to get rid of it by eating it. Saluviran didn't think he was evil until he ate their dream. He decided he would haunt them. Instead of happy dreams he cast out nightmares.
For weeks he did this. He felt the fear they had when it was time to sleep. His new purpose was to torture them.
He found out eating dreams makes you crave more dreams and it makes you more hateful.For awhile he loved it. Ruining his parents lives. They ruined his so why not return the favor?

One night time had stopped and a dark shadow appeared by his side. It took all his power from the ring and any power that had been inside him over the years.
"This ring was meant for good. You abused the power entrusted to you. Therefore I strip you of any power you have and leave you to rot."
The shadow cast a bright light and transformed the power he took for Saluviran and created a beautiful necklace.
"One day you will settle down and have children. Of those children you will have a daughter who will do great things. She will inherit your power and make the stars happy."
Time began again and when Saluviran woke up he felt completely different. He soon realize his power was gone. He didn't know what to do with himself. His whole life he had this magic and it's now just gone.
Miserable and now completely alone he tried to move on with his life. No more casting dreams, no more nightmares, no more craving dreams.
It's hard to say if he really learned his lesson but he did settle down and have children. One of his daughters, Tegan, was born and one night she had a necklace that he had never seen before. It felt familiar. He tried to touch it but it's as if it had power and kept stopping his hand.
Maybe it's an heirloom from The Night Warriors on her mothers side. Or maybe, just maybe it's what he thinks it is. Magic.
