Valour is a dragon who is out for herself before anyone else. She keeps to herself, for the most part, preferring to stay out of others' lives and business. When she does speak with others, she is curt and takes time to warm. She has a short temper, though she never seeks conflict. She is fiercely independent and dislikes receiving help from others. The task does not matter- as long as she can do it alone, she’ll take the risk. Valour was named for that very quality- she is undeniably bold, with a knack for keeping her composure. She acts recklessly in the hope of getting the approval she desperately seeks. It is her own effort that will make her someone, not the help of others. Xavier would point out the lack of self-preservation is a dangerous side effect of her missing sense of worth.

Valour has a true heart under all her toughness. She is an honest person, finding liars to be the worst type of person. While she’s honest in speech, she is not afraid to use underhanded tactics as a last resort. She is deathly loyal to those who she cares for- as evidenced by her vengeance for her sister’s sake. Valour truly cannot let go of grudges, and finds it very hard to forgive. She is a staunch believer that actions define you, not thoughts and words. Despite her conviction in her cause, Valour has very little self-confidence. She would never admit it- that she is scared and lost without her sister, and she truly wants a home that belongs to her. Those years of neglect took its heavy toll on her. She developed a severe inferiority complex because of her sister, and has only barely grown confident in her identity. Nothing she does will ever be better than her sister. She will never be as good as her.

Valour was born alongside her twin sister. Both of them were given the blessing of their goddess, but her sister, Ascela, was the one with a stronger connection. Ascela was the one called with a duty. Whereas Ascela was almost revered by their parents, Valour was left to be raised by servants. Her sister received the finest of everything- Valour would be all but forgotten. Even when she disappeared for days, she found the house seeming like she had not even left. Valour was always overshadowed by her sister, but could never grow to hate her. Ascela cared for her, and taught her whatever her parents did not bother to teach Valour. Even though she worked twice as hard to be like her, it was never enough. Her insecurities grew and festered in all the years she lived in her home. Her relationship with her parents became more strained until it finally snapped. After a final fight with her mother, she decided to leave. Her own house had strangled her for years, and she couldn’t take it any longer.

Valour lived a nomadic life, eventually finding herself drawn to mercenary work. She took whatever jobs came around, still never finding that passion she so wanted. Never once did she ever return to her home, though. Being able to make her own path did give her some sense of control. She drifted around the continent for years, never settling anywhere. In lands outside her home, nobody had heard of Ascela. She was free from her beloved sister’s shadow for once. As she distanced herself farther and farther from her old life, she couldn’t help but develop a grudge against her homeland’s deity for abandoning her, in her mind. The blessing she and her sister had received always lingered over her. It was cruel to give them the same blessing, but to only choose one. Her destiny was to be there with her sister, yet the Plaguebringer did nothing to ensure it. Their parents were instructed to care for them both as equals, yet they never did. While Valour stormed, her sister worked tirelessly for the Plaguebringer. It would not be far into her journey that it ended. Asecela was the first to be murdered in a raid on her camp. Though she travelled with a band of powerful adventurers, the only survivor was Xavier, just barely. When her sister was killed, Valour was truly left alone. Full of sorrow and anger, Valour vowed there that she would avenge her. Without Ascela as her scion, the Plaguebringer would turn to Valour. With a deity she had lost faith in coming back only to use her, Valour grew even more resentful. She cast off the title given to her by the Plaguebringer- only wanting to triumph for her sister’s sake.
