Fascinated with the darker side of life, Fen traveled all the way to the Scarred Wasteland to test her own mettle against the necromatic trials. She knew the risks - and almost succeeded. She may not be able to control disease like a true plagueling, but she takes pride in the marks that Mother gave her regardless. During her stay she met Baxter, with whom she became his assistant, friend, and love of his life. They were happy in the city for the most part, but when Baxter needed a change she suggested a big move to a small town in the region she once called home. Fen is mischiveous, surprisingly gentle and unbelievably fierce when the occasion arises. If she is not assisting Bax or tending to their children, she is most often found exploring the forests. Although she cannot fault others for wanting to keep a facade of normalcy, she cannot ignore the curious sense of wrongness about the place and is determined to discover it's secrets. She exhaled, steam clouding the window and obscuring the rolling landscape outside the train. "We went there once when I was a kid...you know, family vacation. It's just a town, full of tourist traps, gift shops, and mom-and-pop hardward stores. We only stayed long enough to do the rounds. Anyway, that last night we were there I saw a strange animal out in the forest. It was pretty far away from the campground, but it looked like an elk partly covered in bark, moss, and fungus." "You saw a Wood Ear Deer?" "No..." She mused, "It was much larger. Pretty sure it was an elk." |
