Although born into the Ice flight and into a long lineage of a powerful but nurturing faction, Quartztooth has always been a dragon of exploring the skies and land. Despite her persistence in leaving the island, it is apparent that she will be missed. She understands that leaving the island would leave her exposed to the unknown that awaited her off of the island, but the feeling of excitement and unknowing only pressed her forward in her desire to explore the world. She had to decide if it was more important to fill the role your family needs you to play or to make your own decisions, all by yourself.

Quartztooth sets off from the Southern Icefield to explore the world, saying sorrowful goodbyes, as she takes flight from the island. She doesn't look back, not because she doesn't want to, but because she knows if she sees what she is doing she might change her mind. And sometimes, she wonders if maybe she should have.

Time passes. Only gods know how long. Decades. Quartztooth went into a stress-induced state of unconsciousness shortly after the traumatic events at the Southern Icefield.

No one knows when it happened, but at some point, a fae dragon and a Pearl Imperial rescued her and returned her to their home in the Everbloom Gardens. Saphyroth and Sassafras began to believe she would never wake up again before she died, and spent years trying to awaken her. The ice dragon finally awakens after hundreds of years, as their eyes jolt awake, startling Sassafras awake with thrashing and fighting. Hungry.

Quartztooth quickly looked for food, their belly empty from the absence of food for hundreds of years, spotting a feast brought by Saphyroth and swallowing it whole. Sassafras looked at Quartztooth, glad that she had woken up. She quickly recovered with help of Sassafras and Saphyroth.

Sassafras. The dragon quickly became one of her favorites. They would take turns telling tales of days of old and their adventures. One day, even hoping to adventure off together as well. Another time, on a cold winter night, she would snuggle up against his soft fur. They would cuddle up for warmth with Saphyroth as well, as they all fell asleep together. Ever since then, Quartztooth has felt a special connection with Sassafras, something that she had not felt before. It was love.

Her feeling of loneliness grew stronger, as she soared the open skies. Was she looking for something? Not physically. But maybe she looked for something that she had since forgotten after she left the Southern Icefield many years ago. Maybe even the guilt of leaving her family had caught up to her, no matter how fast she could fly. She let out a cold sigh as she dove beneath the clouds, looking for the closest landmark.

She had been able to identify her direction and location through use of landmarks of islands that she visited or seen. With which she uses to fly back towards her home island; she felt as if it were necessary to finally have a reunion. Tell stories of her travels, and such.

And with that, she set off to the island. In a matter of days, she had reached her home, but something felt different. It wasn't the same as she had left it those many years ago, almost impossible to describe. As she descended from above, her feathered wings outstretched as she slows her fall down, looking down to..

Nothing. The land that which once was claimed by her family was now completely desolate, as if no settlement even existed there in the first place. All that was left were signs of magic use and a battle. And blood. Blood. She stared in disbelief at what she saw. There's no way that they are gone.
Is this my punishment?
How was I supposed to know this would've happened?
Who did this?
Thoughts raced through her mind, emotions overcoming her as she exploded with rage, destroying everything in her path. It's not my fault! It's not!!
She crushed the ice beneath her feet, destroyed structures, knocked down pillars.

She stood in silence for a long while, listening to the whispers of old friends and family. She couldn't stop hearing them just as she couldn't stop blaming herself for what happened.

She snapped out of her reflections. She slowly turned to the destruction one final time.

And left the island, never coming back.
