WE ARE BUT A FRAGMENT

______ Rose is a soft-spoken Fae from the Crystalpine Reaches, having been hatched from unknown origins and left to wander the world far into adulthood. Her compassionate and level-headed nature comes from her ceaseless optimism and wishful thinking, and countless nights of praying to the stars. One night in particular, she had been wandering alone, needing food and water and anything to keep her going really, when she happened to stumble into the lair of a lone arcanist named Ichiel. He reluctantly took her in, let her have some apparel he didn't want to be seen wearing (even though most of the time he was alone), and was there to comfort her when she needed it. The day he gave her a name was the day she vowed to be by his side forever.

It was in Crystalpine she learned to love, and learned to be a mother, with the help of her mate. Granted, neither of them knew anything about parenting a hatchling, but they did fairly well with the ones they did have together. Unfortunately, most of their hatchlings were exalted or given away at early ages, since they were both trying to build their clan up to at least normal stability. Sometimes Rose thinks a little too much about her hatchlings, and tends to go back to old habits of praying to the stars to reassure herself that they're okay.

In a terrible accident, the lair of Crystalpine had crashed to the ground, and Ichiel, Rose, and their lairmates had to find a new home for themselves. Eventually, they stumbled across the grace of the Tidelord, and he granted their small clan a place in his realm- the Tsunami Flats. Here, they reformed their clan and brought new order to a land once desolate and cruel.

______ In Rose's lifetime as a clan leader, it isn't uncommon for her to have to settle arguments or disagreements or even have to put her mate back into place. She's the perfect combatant for Ichiel, opposing his occasional brashness and hot-headedness with patience and love. Although normally they are in agreement with one another, Rose has gone to great lengths before to remind Ichiel what kind of a leader he needs to be for his people.
