Sade, es-tu diabolique ou divin?

Born to a guardian and a skydancer, Sade was a quiet and depressed hatchling. She did things slowly with great reluctance; the only thing she ever showed any joy in was alchemy-it gave her a sense of control over the chaos of life, and her talent took her far in her small clan as an adolescent. The beaked mask her given to her by her teacher is still one of her most prized possessions. When she became a young adult, her guardian father sent her on a journey to try and find something in life that would make her happy, certain that her half-guardian nature would still push her to seek out a charge despite being a skydancer. Sade, convinced that nothing in the world would ever make her happy, headed straight toward the darkest place she could think of-the tangled woods. On the way she discovered something about herself-that she loved to care for hatchlings, and got along well with young dragons. She met the young, recently resurrected ice acolyte Storm and his friend Forgiven, and she could not resist taking them with her. They were scared, hungry and alone. They wandered north, hoping to reach the insect-rich edges of the tangled wood, where she could also fish to feed the two little coatls. She and the hatchlings had no choice but to cross the scarred wasteland to reach the tangled wood, and it was a treacherous trip. She once strayed a bit too close to the wyrmwound-and a splash of acid burned her front claws badly. Though very skilled with using alchemy in combat, Sade still received several injuries to her face while defending her charges, which scarred severely. She is very self-conscious about these scars and does not often remove her mask. When the group reached the tangled woods, Sade was unsure of what to do with her charges, but she did not go long without help. The first person she met upon arrival was a happy-go-lucky, peace-touting bogsneak named Garland, who Sade found herself strangely attracted to. Garland pursued her relentlessly until Sade admitted her attraction and the two bonded. When Burst brought home a nearly doused light egg, Sade and Garland decided to nest it themselves, as two biologically female dragons cannot have their own clutch, and hatched their daughter Electra. The tiny baby spiral who had been separated from her family during a hurricane was also taken in by the two, and they named her Sky. Then Crusander joined the clan as a young hatchling, and Sade and Garland raised her as well. Sade recognized her own juvenile malcontent in the little Skydancer and hoped to spare her some of the suffering she endured. Sade is also still very close to the coatls she traveled across the world with, and Forgiven considers Sade to be her true mother. Sade is the clans alchemist, and though she is a formidable alchemical warrior, nowadays she mostly brews food, base materials and clothing. She does not have a conventional cauldron, but instead uses a slightly hollowed out rock that Youngblood heats with her fire breath. Sade has an agreement with the nearby harpy roost that has led to a mutual understanding between them. They trade her raw materials, and Sade gives them back a portion of transmuted items. Every so often a young harpy follows her back to the lair, curious to learn about how dragons live. |
