To make up for Eliana's abrasive parenting style, Astril decided to take a more loving and involved approach in Jadrian's upbringing. She tried to dote on Jadrian with positive attention, but to her dismay, it drove Jadrian away. They found the constant attention almost oppressive and grew to become a very independent dragon because of it. They still want friendship and affection, but their trust is hard to earn because they fear a new friend or partner may treat them like Astril does. This can also lead to them being quite indecisive when it comes to committing fully to a relationship. They left their birth clan to find dragons who would treat them the way they wanted, but for now, they remain paradoxically aloof.
