Elferno Malan; means "Molten Protector" The dragon who presides over fire, Elferno is a mighty dragon that ruled the lands of Pradano of Opyria. He was a feared dragon, though this was because of his ability to quell the volcanoes of the land, or make them erupt with his mighty roars. However feared he was, Elferno never took joy in abusing his powers in order to keep those that would be harmed by him away from his lands. With the nature of his element, Elferno learned early on that it would be difficult to have interacted with others that were not of his kin in the first place. Overall, Elferno had did his best to cherish what interactions he would have gotten from the others like him; Sal'Suin, Cervin, Vaeleran, and Azarin. There were times where he would be graced by the visits of Zeni'Thar or Menthera, though it would be rare seeing as they were always circling the world of Ryne rather than having the luxury of being able to stay in one spot. As more dragons were introduced into Ryne, Elferno had remained within Pradano, relucant to even attend the new birth from Altheryn and Hagasa. After a couple hundred years, Elferno had come into contact with another dragon that had fire as their element. At this time, Elferno was both stunned and a little humbled that it seemed that those above had taken him into consideration. Over time, Elferno had been able to interact with this 'elegant fire', as he so called her in his mind. They were both nameless during this time... and within the years that Elferno got to talk more and spend time with this 'elegant fire', the more he grew attached and cherished each and every day that she had decided that she wanted to stay within the lands of Pradano. For a good few centuries more, Elferno and this 'elegant fire' had become named by the Malan Fey that soon appeared to inhabit the volcanic lands. Instead of referring to his mate as just 'elegant fire', the Malan had bestowed the name 'Fyrgale' to her, and Elferno had officiallt gotten his name from the Malan as well. Life had been rather enjoyable and calm when Elferno and Fyrgale had not been working with Sal'Suin and Cervin to increase some of the landmasses, or even sink some of the islands to make homes for the sea creatures. However, life had not all been bubbling magma and heated sands for Fyrgale and Elferno. Magic had surged through the lands from powerful spellweavers since the introduction of the Origin Races, and Elferno had then only been a target for this madness. This magic had marked the Fall of the Deities. While Fyrgale and many of the non-deity dragons were in the clear, Elferno had been caught and petrified into obsidian. Fyrgale is now one of the protectors at the Temple of Valour where Elferno's body now resides. |
