Biography
[REVAMP NEEDED]
The 'Plague Re-Animated Entity' project or PRAE has been the result of the collective work of Plague and defector Lightning dragons who fuelled by the ever present need of soldiers to aid in the Dominance battles chose to take the unethical path toward creating the perfect warrior, one that feels no pain and no fear, one that can spend weeks on end without sustenance and still continue to fight in the service of its Masters.
The Praetorians were born.
History:
Inspired by the success achieved during the intervention that saved the life of Lightning dragon Arcade, Necromancer Yakov summoned the participants of the first procedure to start working on a new and more daunting project. Could the same magic and cibernetic augments used on the living dragoness be effective on unliving creatures?
With the blessing of the Plaguemother's herald Plague sorcerers Yakov and Caedis, surgeon Morbae and engineer Barak set up their laboratory and began their experimentations.
For up to a year their efforts proved fruitless, the old carcasses salvaged from the Wasteland proving too damaged or rotten to imbed new life into the tissues. They had to look back on the work done on the Lightning Ridgeback, a project that had at the same time been inspired by the study of the Swift Lumen and Swift Volt critters brought to them from the Golem Workshop. The key to their success came from the differences between that and their current enterprise. So far their attempts had only tried to revive the flesh, neglecting completely the magical nucleus that ties every creature to the ley lines of the world. Arcade and the mechanicaly enhanced rodents had their elemental cores intact and thus didn't need but the aid of a connection between this natural battery and the artificial replacements to function correctly. A death body would lose this reservoir of magic in hours, rendering the corpse unable to channel its element naturally. Two options were left for the team to dwell upon, either the subjects had to be retrieved before this natural link to the mystical undercurrents of the world was lost or a replacement had to be built with the capability to replenish itself from envirormental magic.
With this new realization they continued their work. Finally two prototypes were succesfully created, both with different approaches. One with its original core intact and another with an artificial replacement.
