In search of fools and utopias

Volatile was named for his temperament. He can go from perfectly content to furious in an instant, and is always changing his section of the lair. He was exiled from his clan as an older hatchling on account of viciously fighting with his brothers. He was found mostly starved by Ramalama, who would have missed the emaciated hatchling had she not been a dragon who walks. She managed to convince him to stand up and walk to the lair, and he won both her heart and Starlight's. After fully recovering from his time on the road, he became a permanent member of the clan, though he is known to leave the lair and go to places unknown for weeks at a time, but always comes back. He fell deeply in love in Riverside after they became friends, but she has told him that she will not bond with him. He holds out hope, but in his heart he knows she will never love him like he loves her-and he is doing his best to be okay with that. He hopes that some day, someone who could love him back will catch his eye. He also became good friends with Driftwood, after the fae's relationship with Riverside went the same way his did.
In an attempt to control his temper, Volatile chose to become a combat medic-he hoped that still being a warrior would help his anger, but that healing would help him stay calm. Roots taught him everything she knew, but Volatile still wanted to know more. Martia, a matriarch from an allied clan, owed Roots a favor for taking in Crusander, and was a healer far more skilled than Roots. Volatile trained under Martia for two years, and when he returned he was changed. Still crass and irreverent and turbulent, a new layer existed in the skydancer-Volatile had discovered that he truly loved healing. Don't let the healer part fool you, though-Volatile is very much a warrior who will rain destruction from the sky if he or his home are threatened.
