Born and raised in the Shifting Expanse, Shard moved to the Icefield the first chance she got. Although she loved making things, especially metalwork and clockwork, she despised the work ethic and the overbearing presence of the Stormcatcher.
The first few months after moving to the Southern Icefield, she just wandered around, getting into bar fights and stealing what she needed. Soon she started working as a bruiser under a mob boss for quite a few years. There she earned the nickname Shard among her mob buddies, as she was often known to stab enemies of the boss with shards of their own bone. So well known she was, the authorities couldn't ignore her any longer, despite being payed off.
She was forced to move out of the Icewardens domain altogether.
Deciding to start anew, she moved to the Windswept Plateau, known for being friendly and laidback. She was unable to use her real name, due to the many felonies attached to it, so she decided to use her mob nickname as her new identity. She stumbled soon this lair while looking for a secluded place to stay.
Shard decided that, just until the heat died down and she got back on her feet, she would stay with them.
She is yet to decide if that will be permanent.
