Biography

Appearance The gloves he wears are to protect himself from thorns and nettles, and his basket is full of herbs and other plants he has recently gathered. The rest of his apparel are living plants that took a liking to him, kept alive by his nature magic. Personality Arum is very connected to plants, and much prefers them over other dragons. They are so much easier to understand, and make very good friends. He is the clan gardener, and keeps a vast garden for both food and aesthetic on a top pillar of the clan. Backstory He was raised in a skydancer clan by his mother, and so their interactions focused heavily on the use of their gems. The fact that he couldn't use his in the same way made him an outcast in the clan, and was often found on the outskirts of the territory, talking to the plants in the garden he planted himself. He left as soon as he was able to survive on his own, and joined a clan a while away. They accepted him, and since he was the only skydancer, there was no questions about his gem. There, he learned how to use his nature magic with plants. An aspect he was particularly interested in was to grow plants on himself. He soon aquired a small garden of plants that liked him growing around his body. However, this was seen as a bad thing to the other clan members, and he was regarded as an ill omen- for good reason. All the other dragons meddling in this type of magic had eventually become slaves to the plants they used, empty zombies whose only goal was to search for water and fertilizer after they had drained the magic from their host. Arum, though, was able to communicate with the plants. He befriended them, let them choose him, and listened to their needs so the plants wouldnt have to resort to such measures. Unfortunately, they didnt understand. He was chased out of the clan, out of the Nature flight itself, and was forced to spend the night on top of a grassy pillar in the windswept plateau. In the morning, he was greeting by a growling mirror, demanding to know what he was doing. One thing led to another and now he tends a garden on top of that very pillar. Gem His gem is unusual, as it doesn't detect draconic energies - instead, it works with plants. Although this has made him an outstanding gardener- able to tell when plants need watered, repotted, moved etc- it has been a huge block in his social skills. |
