Biography

NeN4zyH.gif
She was a dying star falling
Banished from the heavens to the earth
Sent through the darkness burning
Just a fading light in the universe

She was a dying star falling
Her soul and body sent down in flames
To brighten the sky in the future
As just another light without a name

And as she fell so many below her
Wished upon the shooting star
Not knowing the life ebbing
From the astral being afar

And as she fell she thought she heard them
Inviting voices coaxing her near
And she saw there beneath her
A wonder she'd never seen anywhere

So she sent her voice up to the heavens
The final wish of a dying star
A dream of becoming
Just the way those below her are

And all the other star scorned her
They told her she was thinking too far
"What makes you think you belong there
"When you can walk among the stars?"

"The earth is a lowly place, my dear
"It's not fit for a being so much higher
"We shine brighter than anything in the world
"The earth does not deserve our fire."

But she wished with all her power
She wished to turn into one who walked the earth
She thought it had something
Something that might convince her of her worth

And the pain was searing, burning
As her body went up in flames
Yet she wished fiercer than her fires
That she could be the same

The air shredded her body
But magic imbued her soul
Transforming her into the very thing
She happened to be looking for

Scales expanded across her body
Feathers drifted from her descent
She opened her eyes for the first time
To glide on wing resplendent

And the whole world was watching
As she landed upon the earth
A sweltering breeze in her wake
As she studied her new hearth

Light swirled across her dark body
Glints of silver crossing the stars
A swirling reminder
Of a home so, so far

With a single shift of the wind she flew
In search of her new place
Her eyes shining with the power of ancients
The power that defied Fate

And as she glided across the world, she saw
A place where bamboo swayed in the gentle breeze
Where beauty like she'd never seen before
Was enchanted with falling autumn leaves

With a breath she took in her the world
With every blink her gaze became clearer
With every step her heart began to beat
And she just knew this place was for her

Quietly, softly did she land
Among all that cleansing power
Surrounded by the gentle grass
And the sweet scent of the flowers

For a moment she dared not to move
She feared to disturb the sacred peace
But presently, her feathers smoothed
And she began to feel at ease

"A starchild, I see," a voice said from afar
And she turned to see nothing in her sights
"The wind welcomes all travellers
"Even those from greater heights."

The voice was a playful one
But possessed the strength of a howling gale
A breeze that bowed to no one's will
Always dancing, never still

And it was the same wind that pushed her
Towards a clan in the distant hills
As if knowing her wish when she was burning
And channeling power to her will

And in that clan she found what was missing
What she lacked high in the sky
She found those who cared for her
And those for whom she'd die

She found friends to warm her body
When her heart grew too cold to beat
She found a family among the ones
Who selflessly shared their heat

"The wind welcomes all travellers
"It turns the lost into the found
"For everything is much easier
"When you have family around."

She was a dying star falling
Perhaps it was worth forsaking a place much higher
If it meant descending to the earth and finding
Just what sets your soul on fire.
