Biography
Korran Borachio ...................................................... |
The Friendly Gardener Borachio, by nature, isn't someone who can easily get angered. It's so hard to make him upset, in fact, that most consider it eerie that someone can easily deflect and stand against so many harsh judgements and insults. One look at him tells you he's nothing but a giant sweetheart, and anyone who talks to him regularly will affirm the same. He's both a great listener and chatter, as well as a mild flirt- but he's quite able to pick up if the receiver is uncomfortable with that -often flowing through conversations with ease and generally leaving most in a more positive mood than they were before. Most encounter him inside of the local taverns, always welcoming anyone over for a drink, and usually pays for them as well (where he gets the money, nobody is quite sure). All of the bartenders are quite used to his presence, as he's usually staying late into the night, often leaving once the rest of the crowd is completely gone. He chatters quite a bit with everyone, though no one person is entirely knowledgeable on him as a person.

The Past
As with anyone who's a good person, there has to be some sort of tragic backstory or evil secret that they're hiding, right? Not all can believe this man truly has a heart of gold, and some have done their best to desperately prove that he's up to no good. Depending on who's asking, Borachio does have himself a number of little secrets; most are more than aware that he tends to stray away from the topic of his past, or family, for that matter. Those who know tend to assume that something terrible befell the family, or that they're just a simple, un-interesting group of people. Those who dig a little further merely get shallow and vague replies, stating the lack of contact for a few years now and that they don't miss him. Or that they ever care to visit, as they're busy with their own work. Half-lies, half-truths, enough of them to force anyone to give up on attempting to get information out of him. Those who are truly dedicated may find something interesting once they dig a little deeper. To new people, Borachio introduces himself as Borachio Korran. However, perhaps the proper way to phrase it would be Borachio, Korran. Borachio is not his first name; it's his last. The Borachio family is not one of minor consequence; the name is faintly known among the entire realm, and their reputation a little more notable. They're one of the few noble families that support the King, experts of trade and commerce and generally known among wealthy drunks for their expensive brand of wine. Also known among nobles for being a family of mixed races, while the others tend to be more 'pure' in blood; this has gained them more favor among the lower people, however the other nobles tend to turn their nose up at them. Their family members are open for all to know, however some are less... celebrated, than others. Korran is one of those more secret members. The second oldest of the family, he was not the one to inherit the business, which meant he was merely just another face to the name. His sister was capable enough, and didn't need his assistance. Korran spent his time away from the family, preferring to enjoy his time instead of dealing with the small-end deals and clients that his parents pushed on him. That didn't sit well with his parents, and their tension sparked more than a few flames to burn their ties. He chose to leave that environment, knowing he already could never fit into what they wanted him to be and decided to get out of their hair. He's not unwelcome in their midst, however he's usually met with disappointed stares from them. Both sides believe it's for the better that he stays away. His distance from his family perhaps helped him develop a particularly interesting talent; magic. His family, despite being all mundane, did have an appreciation of the arcane arts. Because of such, when he was younger, Borachio often studied such topics in the hopes of being useful, in some way. Now, as an adult, he's found he's quite good with these skills, and studies what he can, when he can. His current home isn't as supportive of the arcane, which leads to him keeping it on the down-low, however his home has many tomes stashed away. A small, simple wand stays in a sheath underneath his robe, often unused but there in case of emergencies. |
