Biography
Build Notes:
Packs to NOT start on:
- Groups of 4
- Groups of 3 mages that are super effective against you (shadow is weak to Plague, Light, and Arcane)
Round 1)
1) Meditate
2) Bolster (skip this and do the next turn if you're versing 3 mages)
*Enemy turns*
3) Concentration
4) Regenerate
After this, you just want to make sure you have enough breath to cast Regenerate. Cast Bolster (unless you're against mages), Concentration, and Regenerate whenever the effect wears off. Cast Contuse whenever you can.
Sometimes you can be greedy, and cast Contuse to kill an enemy instead of another move. You'll get a better feel for doing this as you use the build more.
Be sure to end the match with as much health and breath as you can (full minus 18 breath for Contuse) so you can go into the next round with full everything.
Round 2)
1) Bolster (skip this and do the next turn if you're versing 3 mages)
2) Concentration
*Enemy turns*
3) Regenerate
4) Contuse (reverse 3 and 4 if you're fighting 3 mages)
Use Concentration whenever possible, but be sure to keep your breath up for Regenerate
Notes about why this build works, and why certain stones were picked:
2x Discipline:
I opted for 2 Disciplines because this is a late game build. Ambush benefits you turn one, but it does nothing after that.
Since our Qck is at 100, we get 2 turns before the enemies, so a third turn would only deal 1 attack and 25% less incoming damage; whereas Discipline allows us to waste lest turns on Meditate late game, so we deal far more damage.
Bolster:
This was chosen because of cost: it's a cheap stone that's easily obtainable. Increasing Def also helps you survive longer since an 120-ish (without Bolster) damage attack will become a 90-ish (Bolster) damage attack.
Concentration:
This was chosen to increase your Int allowing you to kill the enemies 1 turn faster than without, and allowing you to heal more HP to keep up with the damage you're taking.
This build is pretty tanky due to the 70 Def when Bolster is active and 46 Mnd. You might be asking why we're using Def and Mnd when Vit will give us way more health, and the answer is simple:
Def and Mnd allow Regenerate to heal about the same damage as we're taking (400 damage from the 3 melee attacks, then healing 400 from our 2 turns in a row)
Vit will give you more health, but you'll be taking 600 damage from 3 melee hits, and only heal 400 causing it to be a losing battle.
This build is made for the long haul. This isn't a fast build, and it's not going to win speed competitions against an eliminate build. This was made as a cheap alternative to the pricey elim builds.
I tested it without other dragons, so it can hold its own when your fodder go down.
