As a member of the "elite" highway patrol squad, the Main Force Patrol, Roop spends most of his time cruising the Transcontinental One superhighway through the Victorian outback. He still makes time for fun, though - like playing out a power fantasy by training his crosshairs on a frisky, unaware couple having a roll in the hay. Or by hunting down bikie scags after they've been let off scot-free on a technicality.

But Roop's a nice guy. Really. Quite sentimental. See, after his pearl was destroyed - along with the lifetime of memories that it carried - he went through something of an identity crisis. He craved to have his experiences made tangible, and immortalized his life through incessant journaling and hoarding. He's always got heaps of heaps of doodads and thingamajigs, and he's fiercely protective of them. Like that tyre he carries around - that's off the car driven by his first kill.
