Charlotte wakes up to the faint sound of beeping. She turns around and presses the snooze button. Suddenly she freezes. Today was the day, she had realized. She was finally going to leave for the institute. Charlotte was only 19, but had graduated high-school 5 years ago. Charlotte skipped many grades, and graduated at 14. She then did four years of University at Harvard, and now she's here. Her marks were so high she was automatically employed at the Clave. She's going to work as the head of their London Institute. Only problem: She lives in the USA. It took her months to convince her parents, but finally her dad turned to her mother and said "Annie, we can't keep her here forever. We have to let her go".

Fast-forward to August, and Charlotte is at the door with her suitcases in hand. Her mother stands at the base of the steps, with tears in her eyes.
"Oh Charlotte, my dear, dear, Charlotte" She made her way,towards Charlotte and cradled her face in her hands. "You've grown so fast, that I feel like I've missed it all,"
"Mom, you missed nothing," Charlotte's emotions finally came through making her voice break. "You've been right here beside me all this time" Her mother, looked at her with so much pride, that Charlotte thought it would be impossible for anyone else to have more.
"I know you are going to be the first female head there," Charlotte nodded, and her mom continued, "There will be people, who disagree with you, who don't think you deserve this,". Now, her mother lowered her voice, whispering,"But you show them, you show them. That us girls, we can do anything."
"I love you mom," Charlotte says.
"I love you more" Her mother replies.
"I love you most," Charlotte finishes.

Their moment of silence is broken when the Taxi pulls into the driveway. "Well, I've gotta go," Charlotte says. "Bye Mom!" She starts making her way toward the door.
"Bye," Her mom starts, but the door closes before she can finish. "Charlotte" Her mother finishes in the silence.

Once, Charlotte got into the Taxi she started to cry. She missed her mother, and her father, she missed her friends, she missed her home. Stop, she told herself. She looked behind and took everything in. Her mother standing in the doorway, was the last thing she saw. She turned around, and never looked back again.
