Born to a noble clan that had dwelt for generations near the Twisting Crescendo, Kalimbereth was thrust into leadership when her brother, the chief, was lured into the eye of the vortex by harpies whom the clan had fought with over territory for years. Being a ridgeback, the King was not nimble enough to outstrip the deadly air currents, and the harpies mocked him maliciously as the dragon disappeared into the tornado, never to be seen again.

Blinded by vengeance, Kalimbereth declared outright war, and with the clan's fierce warriors she led a bloody attack on the beastclan who had cost them their beloved King. The fight was relentless, the fae's rage uncontrollable, and she put an arrow in the heart of many harpies before the flock admitted defeat and fled the region for good.

But despite victory, the Warrior Queen was unsatisfied. She had successfully avenged the King and defended her clan's lair, but had spilt much blood to do it, and the fae wondered if her brother would have made the same decisions that she had. The clan had settled with the threat of harpy attacks now gone, so Kalimbereth decided to abdicate, passing the mantle to her younger sister - a wiser and less headstrong dragon but one who had the fire of her family's honour burning within. That was a good combination thought Kalimbereth, as she flew away from her birthland looking to the horizon for a new adventure.
