Princess Rhaees

Her mother always hoped she would be born a beauty. After all, the Queen prided herself on being the (self-proclaimed) jewel of the clan, always dressed in the finest of robes and presenting herself with the etiquette and pride due for one in her position. So when her only egg from her only nest cracked open to reveal an identical version of herself, she was utterly and irrevocably prideful. Rhaees was named for riches, which is all her mother cared for. She was dressed in the finest silks and paraded around like a doll. But Rhaees certainly did not make it easy. She tore at the silks her mother dressed her in, cackled and cursed and behaved as crudely as possible. Even in a clan full of deadbeats and criminals, she was considered a little monster. But Queen Rhaenys did not give up easily. So Rhaees took the ultimate revenge. She destroyed herself, burned away everything about herself that her mother found beautiful and prideworthy. Rhaenys does not claim her anymore. And Rhaees is all the happier for it.
