Biography
Queen Rhaenys
The young queen peruses and ponders over the various colours and patterns of the hatchlings squirming in the nest before her. A disappointed sigh leaves her. Once again, these younglings were so very garish. Clashing colours, mismatched genes, truly nothing but an eyesore upon the lair she had so painstakingly brought together.
She leaned back, wings ruffled in annoyance. These dragons and their 'love pairings'. She would never understand it. What was the point of breeding if you do not aim for perfection? She herself had bred the most beautiful children, despite her dire hatred of her mate. One of those crystal monstrosities, but his genes were weak and his colours were perfect. So she laid her nest and then sent him away, where she would never have to look upon his disgusting hide again. He had begged to stay with her of course, but one as beautiful as her had undoubtedly experienced the annoyance of unwanted lovers. She brushed him off as she had the others, like dust off a diamond. So why was this so difficult for others? Such beautiful dragons, laying their genes and all their potential to waste in the name of love and loyalty. Icarus, in all her glowing beauty, had pledged herself to a life of solitude. And Crone! Gods know what Crone saw in that disgusting disfigurement of a dragon. Yes, yes, Mordrew had done so much for the clan, blah, blah, blah. Should that mean she must bear the horrific sight of him for the rest of her life? It was hard enough to endure his presence before he lost his wings, now he was frankly vomit-inducing.
Shaking her head, she turned back to the gaudy hatchlings, writhing and squeaking in their nest. Their parents would undoubtedly want to keep them, but Rhaenys had the last word on this and she already knew her decision. They would fetch a pretty penny or two in the auction. And if they didn't sell, well, the Gods always needed more fodder for their wars. Let the lurid little creatures be sent away, far from where they could disfigure her beautiful world with their existence. And good riddance to them too.
