Biography
Although she may be broken, she’s still whole.
Her earliest memory was getting a trinket from her family. Something pale that glinted in the sunlight in the Crystalspine Reaches. She learned how to sit perfectly still, like her shiny trinket. She was very good at mimicking the treasure that others hoarded, and soon became a treasure herself. Her crackle formed around her wings, nestling the Caribbean and Lilac and Purple hues in place. She was so good at sitting still, perfectly poised.
But then, one day, a fight erupted in one of the clans she was in. A mighty swing of a clawed foot caught her in the spat. Pain shot through her side, and she knew she had to get out. She sprinted for the door, and barely made it as the dragon spat out fiery breath towards her. In the rush of it all, she never realized that her wing was ripped from its structure, spitting blood and spinning her out of control. She crashed down in the Starwood Strand, nothing but a slight rustle of an overgrown bush to indicate she had landed.
She only remembers flashes of what happened next. Two curious Snappers, one dark red, one the deepest blue she had ever seen. They hovered over her, and the red turned to the blue. “But Aurinae,” she cried, teary eyed, “She’s so pretty, and she’s still here. We have to help her. We have to!”
The other sighed. “Alright, Allegra. Pick her up, put her on my back, we’ll get her home.” She felt weightless for a moment, a soft Snapper jaw careful of her tiny frame, and then put down into something soft. Something like a cloud, something fluffy. The swaying of the Snapper, so monotonous and routine and calm, carried her into sleep. She would wake to become the crowning jewel of her new home, in care of the many, and loved by all.
