Biography
Volt - The Electrician
VigorVolt, also known as Volt, was born female, with a motherly nature, but always felt like something was wrong, and decided he was better off as male. He only wished his future could be decided so quickly. He was banished from the Lightning Farm, where he worked managing cables and wires. He was banished because it was found that he was collaborating with the Beastclans to sabotage a project and divert resources to them in exchange for valuables he desired. Volt came to an environment that reminded him of his homeland, and even after spending time in Clan Strongearth, nobody knows why he worked with the creatures he despises.
-
"Volt, could you help me out here?" The guardian dragon said, a tangle of wires in her mouth. "I need these attached to the output for the reactor but I can't seem to get it right."
Volt spread his wings and glided down from the rocky perch.
"You have the wrong ones," he said in a monotone voice, "connecting those will cause a circuit failure. Use the green wires instead."
His apprentice, a purple guardian named Mystia, hurriedly picked up the right wires and plugged them in.
"Wonderful work." A praising voice came. They turned to see Copperflight, one of the clan leaders.
"I'm happy to know that the clan will soon have eleticy."
"It's electricity," Volt mumbled. "And thank you. It should be done in a few days." He resumed his work, assisting Mystia with fusing cables. Copperflight left in a happy mood. They worked in silence for an hour before Mystia spoke again.
"I have a question for you." She hesitatingly stated.
"It better not be about ground wires and redirected input wires, I already told you the difference."
"No, it's just... Everyone says you were banished." She looked at him. "Is that true?"
Volt nearly snapped his metal rod, which glowed bright red with heat.
"It is true, yes, but not for the reasons you may think."
"So you weren't conspiring with the Beastclans?" She questioned again, and Volt shook his head.
"No, well, yes, I was, but-"
"You were discussing hijacking a project in exchange for valuables?" He gave her a weird look. "That's what everyone says." Mystia shrugged.
"I'm not surprised. Of course, they would say it was for valuables. They just wanted to villainize me and cover up what had happened."
"Then... What did happen?"
Volt stared at her with piercing eyes. "Those beasts took my daughter. Her egg, I could tell the dragon within was a strong female nocturn just like me, but... She was stolen. The only egg I had. I had found it abandoned, took it as my own, cared for it like my own for days on end. And then all of that was taken from me. So I resolved to get her back."
"And you worked with them in exchange for her?"
Volt hung his head. "I was stupid, thinking I could win her back. They raised her to hate me. She was the one who told me my effort was for nothing, that I wasn't her father-" His voice faltered, and the faint circle of lightning around his head crackled and stormed. He looked at Mystia again, bathing in a glow of blue as the lightning around him hissed neon.
"It was for something far more precious to me than valuables," He told her.
"It was for my daughter."
