Lumin - The Light Mage

Lumin traveled to the Shattered Plains when young, seeking to practice his powers in safety. What he found instead was a dry and harsh world. He sought life in his journey, eventually making his way to Clan Strongearth where Treva took him in. Supported by his new family, he hones his powers to protect the clan and often climbs the slopes around the Pillar to see his homeland on the horizon like a distant star. He was surprised to find himself reluctant to return- So he never did.

"Just relax, it will come to you, you're pushing yourself too hard, Lumin."
The dragon glared at the imperial, trying again to summon the beacon of light he had been sustaining moments ago.
"It's night, Space, how can I practice light magic in the dark?"
"It's important," she murmured, reflecting, "when I was practicing in the Isles I wasn't allowed any near magical sources until I was strong enough to not need them."
"What's the point of that?" He questioned the mage, a small beam of light emerging from the ground and pulsing upward like a plant seeking the sun.
"So that I wouldn't have a reliance on anything, just like you and your dependence on the sun!"
Lumin increased his beam and Spaceface nodded with praise. "That's good. Your magic isn't just from the sun, it's from within you. Feel it and use it."
With more effort, Lumin made his beacon once more. Spaceface flashed her claws in front of him and he lost focus, the light fading away.
"I suppose you should work on concentration next, yes? Don't worry, I plan on teaching you everything before my visit is up."
"You're returning?" He glanced up, a bit saddened to know his friend would be going back to the Arcane territory.
"Yes, with all the strange magic happening lately the Focal Point needs mages more than ever." She narrowed her eyes, "Come on, keep practicing."
He tossed his head to the side reluctantly and continued, his robe billowing.
"I'll miss you, you know. You've helped me a lot."
"Oh, don't worry," Spaceface said, "I have a good feeling our paths will cross again."
