A child born from the line of weather witches, Amelie grew up with her sister Ingrid learning to control and predict the weather just like her father. Stanley doted on his daughters, making sure they grew up safe, and happy. He showed them how to read the coming winds, how to predict by light and clouds. In the end, he imparted upon them each a staff made of what seemed to be driftwood, but the center is of some opalescent material, capable of channeling their magic in a powerful manner.

Amelie found her magic manifested in a more powerful way than her sister's. As a child, she could make small bursts of wind, and even create small showers. As she grew older, she became able to control the weather with enough concentration, enough magic. She could move clouds and disperse them, could silence storms as if she were cooing a child to sleep. At the same time, she could create great tornadoes, though she didn't want to do such things, afraid of the damage she could cause.

There was only one time she created a storm larger than any she'd seen, wishing to stop an attack on a caravan she had been traveling with. The results were disastrous, and have since made the young witch promise herself to only rid her path of storms instead of cause them.
