History
Frost had a difficult hatchlinghood, he couldn’t stand the dirt and noise of the forges and preferred to spend his days studying old recipe books and maps. His father was enraged by his lack of progress in his smithing and took his treasured collection and burnt it in the hope it would force the boy to take his studies seriously. Instead it galvanised Frost’s hatred of his birthplace and family trade. As a pale plumaged Coatl he didn’t get on much better with anyone outside of his immediate family. He once accidentally brushed his tail against a dragon who then screamed and ran to scrub her feathers. He grew to believe he had no place among his birth clan and so tried to prepare himself to leave by studying Draconic and foreign cultures. He did not have enough treasure to be comfortable leaving so he began to work as a translator for visiting dragons. It was through this work he met Cinder, a beautiful Nocturne who shared his interest in food and had come from the Southern Ice Field. He was enchanted by her and agreed to Join her on her Journey.
They travelled to all the Domains in Sornieth learning everything the could about the local cuisines. Soon they became well-known as chefs and found themselves in constant demand to cook for Banquets, Nobility, and Festivals. However both were becoming dissatisfied by all this praise. Their repertoire stagnated, most ingredients were so well sourced and prepared before they even got to see them that they felt it was pointless to serve anything other than sushi and salads. Searching for a true challenge they found the Stricken; Not only were ingredients here scarce but the dragons here were legendarily taciturn most meals being greeted with near-indifference. One of Frost’s most treasured memories is seeing Aldera nod slightly at him after a feast that took three days to prepare. Under these harsh conditions the pair began to thrive.
Sadly the very thing that brought them together now began to tear them apart. While Frost was breaking boundaries with knife-work, extravagant pastries, sugar-work, and complex umami centred dishes Cinder had seemed to lose her mind. She had no interest in cooking anything but excessively spicy dishes that blinded the pallet. It became impossible for them to cook together. When forced to the clan’s kitchens become a battleground.
However they resolved to separate their professional differences from their personal lives, outside of the kitchen the pair are one of the most sickeningly lovey-dovey couples that one might meet.
His experiences in his youth have made him extremely nervous around Fire Dragons and Colourful Coatls. He and Lucia have a close bond as they often speak about the pain these experiences caused them. However unlike her he tries his best to overcome his prejudices and always attempts to get to know these dragons when they join the clan.
