Over the lip of the Wyrmwound on a balcony of stone and bone, sits the Altar.
_From each corner of the carved platform extend cables of ancient living sinew_
_and wild growth which hold up the precarious and crumbling perch. Below it_
_churns the Wyrmwound, heat and noxious fumes rise all around the platform,_
_and the illumination from below and the thickness of the clouds above give the_
_place a look of eternal sickening dawn._

Across this feverish light passes a vast shadow. The nameless dragon keeps
_sightless watch over the Scarwind Altar. Her voice is a whisper of consumption,_
_and none but the High Priestess and the Queen have ever spoken to her. She is_
_the shadow of death which presides over the labors of all plague dragons. What_
_she may have been before that matters none._
