Belinda grew up never knowing her mother. Her father, bless his heart, did everything he could to provide for her and her siblings but, with being different breeds, it was difficult. He always believed his mate would return to them. Belinda hated seeing her father so heartbroken and vowed never to end up like that.

Hard times soon fell upon the clan. As food became scarce, it was every dragon for themselves, resulting in inter-clan attacks. Belinda's scars are a result of fending off attackers to protect her family. As time went on, their father fell ill—having sacrificed his share for his children—and soon passed away.

Belinda and her siblings did not have time to grieve before they were shipped off to the Auction House by the clan's leader for profit. Because of her scars, no one wanted her. Her brother and sister were instantly snapped up by different clans. They begged their new clans to adopt their little sister too but their pleas were ignored.

It was the last time the siblings saw each other.

Year after year, Belinda was passed around from clan to clan, often used as fodder in the Coliseum. Just when she thought she found a forever home, she would be tossed back to the Auction House later on. The scarred Ridgeback soon became distrustful and wary of others. She would pray to the deities for whatever clan that took her next would exalt her because anything was preferable than her disillusioned existence.
