As the sun rose and the Lightweaver spread her wings, the light penetrated the mist of the Tangled Wood to shine on a single egg. It was far from home, very far. Stolen by a BeastClan thief from its nest in the Ice Domain, it was carried into the Shadow Domain. Water trickled down the egg's shining shell, melting to reveal the hatchling curled inside. The little Mirror, orange and green with all four eyes glazed over, does not move. That is when the two Skydancers came: one light blue and the other a striking orange. Azure and Vermilion picked their way through the tangles of brambles and trees, thorns uncomfrotably sticking into their hides. Azure spotted an odd...thing...collapsed in a pool of water and went to investigate. It was a hatchling. Azure carefully scooped the little thing up and hurried over to his mate. "Vermilion, look!" _______________________________________ The deer weren't aware of what was following them. Romano's ears twitched as he crept after the herd, following them through sound and scent alone. One of the deer's ears flicked up as Romano accidentally kicked a stick in his path. The whole herd stared at the still dragon for a split second before sprinting off in unison. Romano charged toward them, barreling into the herd and leaping upon a male as big as himself. The creature bucked and kicked, but the Mirror managed to deliver the killing bite to the throat. As the buck went down, blood sputtering, Romano grinned. The clan would survive another day. |
