There was a steady banging of metal in the distance, it had began the previous day, continued throughout the night and long into the daylight of the next day. Eventually you decide to follow the sound, wondering if it was some sort of mechanism doing it as it rarely stopped. When you approached the stone forge, the heat got almost unbearably hot as you neared, but you pressed on. You peeked inside to see a large dragon hammering away at what looked like the beginning of a sword, this must be the blacksmith, you thought. There was a small creature sitting on his workbench, gently plucking away at a lute as if the noise didn't bother him at all.

"Hello.." you called hesitantly, but the dragon continued on as if he didn't hear you, and he probably didn't with all that racket. Eventually the hammering stopped and he set the sword back into the stone kiln when you decided to try again. "—Hello!" The head of the skydancer whipped around to face you and you wilted under his calculating gaze, about to turn and leave when a deep voice rumbled out in a heavily accented voice, "I 'eard ye the first time. Ye either come in n' tell me what ye want 'r go away. " he sighed heavily and patted the small creature's head, leaving soot behind. “--I’m workin’ as hard as ah can.” he continued, voice laced with exhaustion and seemingly regret for having snapped at you.

“—These are very good.” you decided to change the subject as you noticed the steadily growing pile of weapons and armor, the blacksmith closed his eyes and nodded his thanks for your kind words. You spent a short time looking over the items, but decided it was better to leave the blacksmith to his work and turned to leave soon after with a small wave, hearing the other mumble a few words to the creature as you left.
