More bird than Nocturne to others, Caldera is often found streaking across a bright night sky, nearly indistinguishable with her sparkling stomach and wings. She's Second Mate of Ketterdam, second behind only Kaz and Inej themselves. She performs most of her duties at night, livening up the sky with her nightly antics.

In her spare time, Caldera takes care of many birds. Her whole room is full of cages, though most of them are seen free-flying alongside Ketterdam, the ship she calls home. Some of the other dragons don't like it, but she doesn't mind them much. When her pets die, she keeps their spirit living by cleaning and articulating their skeletons, creating quite a collection of unique bones.

Outside of her mate Quantum and close friend Inej, she hasn't gotten very close with any of the other Alliance dragons. The life suits her, though, and she continues happily toward the future that it will bring her.
