Biography
Disbatcher
She was believed to be blind upon her birth.
Morros had been alone with the eggs at the time, due to Diminuel's.. ever-changing behaviour.
Once they all hatched and opened their eyes, he immediately became aware of his oldest daughter's lack of pupils. Worriedly, he called the healer.
The healer, not knowing what to do with it either, called the priest. Jefischa had never seen such eyes before, and could not help. Thus, they had to find the highest religious ranked dragon in the clan: the prophet.
Morros, the healer, and the priest all sat around the nest while Kentariel looked at the children.
The prophet's turned to Morros, and declared sadly that this was neither a blessing nor a curse from their mother, but a side-effect of the land they lived on. Nothing spoke to her as any special gift from the Lightweaver. The child should theoretically be fine.
"Is she able to see?" Morros asked. The prophet held his gaze for a moment, then turned to the healer. "I believe that is not my area of expertise. Healer if you may."
Rosanne stepped forward, a bit uncertain with all the eyes on her.
Morros held his breath as Rosanne looked at the hatchling, and tried tilting her head up. No pupil visible. More like her eyes were.. scattered and cracked, it made no sense.
Rosanne glanced at the awaiting faces around her, and waved a hand in front of the hatchling's face.
It did not react.
She snapped her claws together in quick succession, to make a little rapid noise, and the hatchling tilted its head accordingly to the sounds.
Rosanne cleared her throat and let go of the child.
"Well.. It seems to me she's in excellent condition otherwise, but her sight might not be there. I'm sorry."
Morros looked sadly at her, and then at his daughter. He nodded nonetheless, and sat down beside her.
"No worries, we will care for her regardless." The prophet nodded. "You will be surprised by the adaptability of a child with the loss of senses. She will compensate. I know many great dragons with no eyes or no wings, this is not a tragedy. See it as a gift."
Morros smiled, more reassured and uplifted by the words. "Of course, a gift as all my children have been."
Unbeknown to the dragons around, she could see just fine. Perhaps not with the usual visual of a dragon, but with the strange disarrangement with the eyes of an insect.
