Childhood was spent at the side of her protective twin, the guardian hardly letting her out of sight. Quartz, of course, didn’t mind at all. She loved being the center of her sisters attention. So, of course, when Adette picked up a charge, Quartz did as well. She cared for it so strongly in fact, that the fae staked her name on the stone, wholly dedicated to it. Naming herself and claiming a charge despite being a fae; it’s been quite obvious since she was a child that Quartz is indeed a headstrong little thing. At her sister’s assurance, and with the blessing of their mother, Quartz set off seeking her grandfather after her coming of age. The healer was oft praised by her mother, and those in the kingdom who knew of him. He’s be perfect to learn under, and so, when Adette trekked south for her new home, Quartz did as well. They flew separate for the first time in their lives yet it... felt right. Summersaulting in the air, Quartz watched her sister fondly as they put more distance between eachother. Upon settling into the new clan, was soon proven that Quartz did not make a good assistant for her grandfather; Komol’s style of healing very... by the book, for her tastes. Likewise, she clashed with Anaxagoras as well, the witch doctor having horrible bedside manner and no mind for actual sick dragons. No, the guardian preferred to treat things such as heart ache and sorrow... Certainly not the route Quartz wanted to take. Despite how well she hit it off with the Guardians assistant, Necropolis, Quartz was quick to remove herself from the cave. It wasn’t until she stumbled across a beaten fighter, wounds infected and sore from lack of treatment, that she found her niche. There was a secondary life that some of these dragons lived, sleeping underground and carrying out the dirty work no one wanted to know about. And it was just her luck that they had no doctor. She was quick to take up residence among the rough and tumble drakes, treating everything from snagged claws to missing limbs and cases of clipped wings. She now makes enough money to visit her sister on the rare occasions that her King allows her to leave. While she’s careful not to talk about the work she does, Quartz seems to have come to life in the simply lit world oh so few know about, eager to hear stories from her patients of blackmarket deals gone wrong or fights they’ve picked. One of them has even made her a leather pouch for holding her charge on her person as all times, the small bag lined with an enchantment to keep it safe.
