BIOGRAPHY

No one in the clan knows anything about Soul. He has never spoken a word, and no one knows if it's a decision he made consciously, or if it's for some other reason beyond his control. He wandered into the clan's territory one night, and despite saying nothing, Clove still offered him a place to stay. He ended up staying permanently, and the dragons in the lair began to understand him through the small gestures he makes; his own form of communication. Due to a bad case of frostbite as a hatchling, Soul's wings were badly damaged, and although he can still fly, it's rather painful for him and he's not a very strong flier and as a result, he prefers to spend his time on the ground. Soul moves around the lair almost as silently as a ghost, making most dragons jump violently when they notice him in the room for the first time. Due to his appearance, and his silent nature, many dragons are unnerved by Soul, and most of the new hatchlings in the clan are rather scared of him, but he's not a fighter, nor is he an evil dragon.

Soul spends most of his time with very elderly, or dying dragons, caring for them and tending to their needs. And when they're on death's door, he'll sit by their side until they pass on. When a dragon does pass on, he'll suddenly get up and start acting strangely, moving slowly through the lair like he's guiding something through the passages and outside until he reaches the edge of the clan's territory where he'll stand and stare out across the plains, sometimes for longer than an hour, before eventually returning to the lair. He once wrote down that he was guiding the dragon's soul out of the lair, so it could be free to wander where it wanted. The other dragons in the lair find this behaviour odd, and rather unsettling, but they accept that Soul might indeed be able to see things they can't, especially since they know so little about him. Most of the other dragons in the clan believe that Soul can communicate with the deceased dragon spirits he guides from the lair, a rumour he has never denied or confirmed. But when standing at the edge of the lair territory, after having guided a spirit out, he can often be seen making his small communicative gestures to what looks like thin air. When asked anything about spirits, he most often just smiles slightly and walks away without providing any kind of response, another odd quirk that just makes him even more mysterious.

Soul communicates with the other dragons in the clan through a series of small movements and gestures that most of the clan can now fully understand. However, this form of communication is not perfect, and sometimes Soul will write things down to better explain what he's trying to say. He’s a very gentle dragon, although his appearance is rather scary, but when dragons get past his silent ghostly nature, and his unnerving behaviour and looks, they find him to be very kind and gentle, and they enjoy spending time with him. He likes to help out looking after hatchlings, but has learnt that most hatchlings are terrified of his appearance, so he rarely goes to the nesting grounds. But if a hatchling comes along who is not scared by him, he becomes very close with the hatchling and spends a lot of time caring for them.

I absolutely adore Soul. His color scheme is easy on the eyes, his apparel is well-fitting, and the matching of Grey and Phthalo PoiTox is actually insanely cool. I adore his lore as well -- he's a beautiful, mysterious dragon both in appearance and character. Very well done.
