THE FINEST VICE SALESMAN YOU'RE BOUND TO MEET

"We've all got our vices darling, you don't see me making a fuss about yours." They take another drag on their cigarette. The smoke is sweet, like sage and… something else. It's hard to tell what, exactly, as it fuzzes the mind, making questions harder to hold and to grasp.

They hold up a mason jar. That should be a point against them, all their wares are in common mason jars, and surely, if this stuff was as good as the price tag, they could afford nicer jars. They shake it, and the opaque green juice inside sloshes, staining the glass with chopped pieces of leaves and dripping down slowly. "I'm not going to pretend it tastes nice." They say "But after the first gulp or two you're not going to notice the taste anyway."

"Couldn't you add sugar to it?"

"Ehhh." They shake it again. Bubbles are starting to froth to the top now. "I guess. Though frankly, I don't think it'd make much difference."

"Not much of a sales pitch."

"But you're still here." They have a point. "Listen, everyone has their vice, and every vice has a drawback. And if tasting like tundra vomit is as bad as it gets, you're doing pretty good if you ask me."

They shake the mason jar one last time, then twist the top and hold it out. It smells like pine and chlorophyll, and something… something else. Something like whatever this dragon is smoking. "Tell you what," they say, and the smoke pours from their lungs. "First drink's on me."
