She walks past you and your friend, holding a box of medical supplies. The membrane in her wings looked shaved off, cut neatly just inches along the bone in the wing fingers. That flesh you estimate to be back by sundown. You glance down and notice her index finger is missing, already scarred over at the stump. That will be back a week from now. You've counted the days the last few times she's given them away. Your friend hears a door squeak open and your attention follows suit. The dragon you saw two hours ago, bloodied, an eye clawed out and his pinky finger sliced clean off, walks out of the home. His pearly white skin shines in the sunlight, and when you look down you see the sudden change from white to red on his hand from where his old finger used to be, now replaced by a blood red claw. Patches of red adorn his neck and arm, the same color as Cahira's wings.
