Aziraphale is not what he seems. In fact, he's a Light Exalt! Don't tell anyone, he's having fun pretending to be a mortal dragon, though he's not always great at hiding what he is. He knows more than he lets on, and given that he enjoys sounding like a snooty know-it-all, he knows a lot indeed - but that doesn't excuse him from being an unreliable narrator! He was indeed adopted into a Light clan, where he was raised close to the Beacon of the Radiant Eye. From an early age, he felt the need to do his best and contribute to his Flight for the Lightweaver, and so he began to collect scrolls... Even now, long after he's succeeded in gaining her attention and becoming one of Her Archivists, he still hoards all the papers he can find, and his trips to "collect new scrolls" have about half a chance as being what he actually says they're for. He sometimes takes long trips to the Beacon to deliver especially precious texts, replenish his magic reserves, and have a good stroll around the Lightweaver's personal library. "I was hatched from a Lightning egg that had been abandoned. My adoptive parents were Light dragons, and I suppose I adopted their ways of thinking, as I hardly relate to any Lightning dragon that I've ever met. I left my original Clan in search for knowledge, and I have since traveled Sornieth in search of rare books and scrolls to collect and preserve. Really, the lack of respect for these ancient materials outside of the Lightweaver's territory is appalling!" "I do not know how long I traveled the world, but I have found a home here in Clan Napellus, and it seems as if I will be staying a long time. I must admit that transferring my beloved collection from our former home to our current territory in the Southern Icefields was quite nerve-wracking, but fortunately everything went smoothly and my beloved scrolls arrived safely. I must admit I'm quite protective of them. I have continued to add to my library, and often I am gone for days or weeks to collect a new scroll if I hear of one I have not yet seen."
