Nighthunter is an energetic scientist with a insatiable hunger for knowledge. Any machine she gets her paws on will be broken down and reassembled within the hour. Despite her small size, her ingenuity and know how is invaluable to the Tunnel Builders; together, she and her wife Storm have created and mapped over 400 new tunnels and 20 systems, spanning the entire continent to almost all the flights, connecting her clan to thousands of other small pockets of dragons and hidden beastclans.

Nighthunter handles the more hands off aspects of tunneling, such as planning the routes and designing more effective support structures. She also experiments with heat resistant materials, a necessity down in the earth near possible magma chambers.

Born (or created?) in the Southern Icefield, Nighthunter walked the land of the Fortress alone. She had no idea what she looking for or wanted. She only knew her name and that the world was very cold and lonely.

She had always heard the howling in the distance but never thought to investigate it. Not until the day a small red wolf darted across her path. She didn't even turn her head until their long tail caught her eye and she snapped around. No not just the tail, this wolf had wings similar to hers with fins crowning their face behind their ears. They were just like her. "H-hey. Hey! Hey wait! Come back, who are you!?"

The wolf led her to the Pack, a group of those just like her but she couldn't understand. They talked about something that she doesn't remember anymore. Something about not being fully started. From there Nighthunter gained a sudden curiosity in everything. She wanted to finally understand the world around her. When the Pack moved down to the Crags she was first exposed to mechanics and tools and her family found they could barely separate the young wolf from her new calling. She left her family to travel to the other flights with their blessing and set off. She met Storm at Snowsquall when the two tried seeking shelter in the same cave. They were both shocked at finding another like themselves. "It must be Icewarden's doing!" "Hmm I have doubts." The grey wolf answered. Storm was also fascinated by engineering and intended to join the Stormcatcher's ranks. "Ha! I like that! You even share the name storm." Storm squawked and tried to push her but Nighthunter dodged and spun around, laughing the entire time.
