Slipperwort is an abomination of oozing pustules, scabs and mutations who Peach claims she found inside the pustule lake in the Wyrmwound and brougth over for "experimentation". It is unclear what she is experimenting with, but the Wildclaw, who otherwise seems unresponsive to any outside stimulus and shuffles along like little more than a reanimated corpse, visibly perks up at the sight of her and responds to her presence with adoration.

For her part, Peach absolutely dotes on Slipperwort on the rare times they're seen out in public. Nobody knows what they do when they are NOT out in public, and they do not want to know. They know Slipperwort sometimes has marks on his neck as if from a leash, and every possible scenario anyone in the clan can conjure up for why that is is quickly dismissed as "oh gods I'd rather not think about it".

The outrage of Slipperwort's arrival nearly caused Eglantine and Peach to be expelled from the clan for breaking the old oath forged between Spring Song and its plague-flight dragons, which forbids the spreading of contagion within the Plaguebringer's domain. Peach was able to assure them, however, that Slipperwort was not contagious and would be kept under surveillance so whatever pestilence he might have didn't spread. She also personally explained the nature of her experiments to Rosethorn, who has a stronger stomach than most dragons, and who has officially given her approval.
