Why run away from the big, scary guardian than to call your friend a pearlcatcher, a known coward, and push him closer? I paused for effect once the three companions were done jostling each other which caused the to lean closer. A thought flashed across my mind, chasing after any fraction of attention that it could obtain. Take them to the bog now. The souls could be yours in seconds. I was in for the long game. "So, kids, what do you know of the Search?" They mumbled feeble responses on top of one another, purposefully indecipherable. |
