Biography

Avirra - The Mapmaker

Avirra came from the Windswept Plateau on a mission to map the world. With her lanterns guiding her, held aloft by the magic she was born with, she soars high over the land and draws out every detail. She almost didn't notice Treva's clan, and when she did she thought it was just a normal cliffside dwelling. But the color and vibrancy of activity lured her closer, and she ended up becoming a permanent resident. She still makes her maps, but she always returns home in a few days, back to Clan Strongearth- Where she knows a welcome awaits her.
-
"Welcome home, Avirra!"
"What did you find?"
"Have you finished the map?"
Avirra beat her wings quickly, hovering over the crowd that greeted her. Clanleader Treva was there, Raal the medic, and even grumpy old Stoneseer who rarely left his cave.
"Thank you, thank you." She addressed. Her claws quickly grabbed a map from the case, unrolling it.
"This trip, I drew out the area wherein lies the intersection of Dragonhome, the Scarred Wasteland, and the Tangled Wood. It's quite something, and I had an interesting encounter with some lovely dragons there who gave me some traditional recipes to try."
The scribe, Hawk, came forward with 4 bunnies on her back, resting quietly. "Would you like me to make large copies?"
Avirra nodded, "Of course, that's definitely appreciated."
The crowd awaited the announcement they knew she had yet to make.
"As for where I go next," everyone held their breath, "I'll be flying off to Ashfall Waste, I plan on mapping volcanic activity as well as topographical features."
There was a scattering of applause and Avirra smiled, landing once more. She caught the eye of Treva, who cleared the crowd.
"Alright, everyone, back to normal, our mapmaker needs rest."
Avirra gave Treva a thankful glance before making her way to her nest built into the cliffside, lined with sap and twigs as was her species' custom. She spread out her maps, observing them happily. The icefields would have to wait for now, but she could take her time.
One day, she knew, she would have made her way across Sornieth, mapping her travels, making a name for herself.
Let it one day be known, she thought, Avirra.
