Bardsey came to town after one of Adeline’s trips to the Rifter’s flat. Ade wasn’t entirely sure about this to be honest, having met her mother Selby and deciding that she seemed nice enough provided you didn’t hang around during ritual time.

But the pearlcatcher had heard about the city's orchard made from her family’s stock that was growing and wanted to help, which was good enough a reason to give her a chance.

Bardsey doesn’t appear to be quite as devoted to said rituals as Selby, but she’ll still make jokes that seem to have the uncurrent of seriousness- even after she sees your reaction and says “Kidding!”. For example, telling the heads of the Casino Quarter to their faces that if they complained about the smell of the fertilizer she used then they were welcome to be a part of it. Or saying that she’ll burn a wicker man for good harvest luck just, y’know, not with someone in it. This time.

Bardsey’s friendly and easy going despite the feeling that you are never as important as her work- something that can make what should be a calm walk through the trees a small bit menacing if you don’t know her. Really though you just gotta ask to pick the fruit, it’s grown to be shared and ate after all.

She mostly lives in and among the trees and can be tough to see between the branches. She’s a least louder about it than Walter or Crow when popping out at you, provided you know what that particular rustling of leaves means.

Hemwick does not understand that they are not literally family. His insistence and presents have obviously warmed him to her, even if said presents are sometimes dead animals. Makes decent compost at least.

Mochi
Bardsey is occasionally annoyed that whatever weird aura Mochi has will change her lovely plague trees into something more...average looking...should they be planted too near his tent.
