MAY Amber Nature Nurturing Kind Began Trials [27/05/XX] Guided by N/A |
[24/05/XX] ** Overcast Watching her mother frantically herd her youngest sister back into the nest, Sephone felt a little pride swell within her. At least she wasn't being too unruly; her only brother was also rather peaceful today, too. Squarks splintered through Sephone's ears as Cholera's dodo companion caught the imperial's other sister making her own break away. Really, what did those two hope to achieve? There was nothing outside of the den but mud-- not with the moisture clogging the air today. Sephone had already tested the outside world yesterday-- the dirt was disgusting, the way it squelched between her claws. At least her mother could instantly dry the earth she stood on, rotting it away until it crumbled beneath her claws. Huffling, Sephone turned her back on her siblings, burying her nose beneath her paws. It was nap time, if the rumble of thunder in the distance was any indication. No one was foolish enough to try to sleep while her father's lizard was wailing it's head off. A lecture about the potential of storms was the last thing she needed. |

[01/06/XX] ** Clear The trek to the Wyrmwound had never seemed this long before. Leaving home had calmed the restlessness clenching through her paws, but now Persephone couldn't help but dream of the comfort of her old nest. Lectures still weren't tempting, but perhaps now she wouldn't tune her parents out quite so early on. Anxiously, a few bugs scuttled out of the way of the growing imperial's paws. She was already larger than her Wildclaw sister would ever be, and the trickle of infection that escaped the Rotrock Rim seemed minuscule beside the growing dragon. The power of the soft splash that snuck in under her nail bed, however, would show Persephone the power of the smaller details in life. |

[07/06/XX] ** Imperceivable Persephone had been limping the first three days of her infection, but now... Wings had brought her to the Wyrmwound's edge, but she hadn't moved an inch since. Neither of her front legs would follow her commands, and the left back leg was closing in on it's own crippled status. Persephone had tuned out her stomach's complaints long ago. Her mind had to focus on the infection, not the pain. She'd already brought three untimely deaths to passing fauna this morning alone. [14/06/XX] ** Sunny Feeling the breeze brush over her skin brought a rush of relief, a reminder of freedom. Freedom of thought. Gnawing down on the infected ladybug nest, however, was a less gratifying feeling; a grim reminder of the tasks still ahead of her. Persephone had wielded Her gifted to obtain her meal as soon as she had recovered-- the easiest hunting technique for the starving corpse Sephone had been. Now the unfulfilling breakfast served as a motivator for the young imperial. Once she could heal properly, then she could eat properly. Perhaps Persephone's family would tell her she was making the task harder than it had to be-- but Persephone didn't believe so. If She intended for the examinee to pass, then survival would win out, no matter the challenges Persephone faced in the trails. Self set or otherwise. |

[18/06/XX] ** Foggy Success came with the fall of dusk. In the shroud provided by rainfall that had vanished with the daylight, a fading rat choked in an abnormally easy breath. With every cycle of air, energy returned to it's form until-- With a start, the rodent scurried away. Persephone watched in joy, hunger forgotten, as one by one, it's family rose to join it. She had passed her trials. "..." Barely thirty meters away, the family fell into deaths grasp once more under the infectious paws of a pestilent pearlcatcher's paws. The two dragon's eyes met. |
