At the edge of the clan’s territory sits what looks to be a cave made of hideous, gnarled tree roots, the trunks of which stick out at odd angles as if they had been shoved unevenly from below. Bells of varying ages and conditions hang from the branches of surrounding trees, chiming dolefully as they are caressed by the wind. Approaching the unusual formation will catch the attention of the three inhabitants -should they be there- and their nine eyes will glint curiously from within. One by one, the triplets slink into the open – a sister followed by her two brothers, each missing one of four eyes. They surround a hollowed-out tree stump outside their den and, sitting on their haunches, place their foreclaws on the rim. Something thick and black bubbles and steams inside the stump. One brother beckons knowingly. They can solve all your problems and soothe your many woes…for a price.. Candiru never especially liked dragons other than his parents and siblings. He is the least sociable of the group, but still enjoys observing and studying other dragons’ behavior and habits. This tendency has given him insight into desires of the mind; even when those who come to the three have no idea what they want, Candiru can draw it out of them, make them see things they never knew about themselves. The only friend he has ever made and continues to keep is a delightful, yet brutal maren woman. She often supplies him with extra cloth made by her people that his brother loves so dearly. Candiru likes to collect bells, preferably old and small enough to tie to the branches of the trees surrounding his cave of roots. His detachment from others makes it easy for him to go all out when fighting, and may the gods help you if you threaten his siblings. Due to his overprotective nature, it had taken him quite a while to keep from snarling every time he saw his sister’s suitor, Eltanin, approach - even after she had accepted the imperial as her mate. When Hydrocyon lost her right front eye when they were hatchlings, it had been his idea for himself and Weever to each gouge one of their own out. “If one of us suffers, we all suffer,” he had stated as they raised their claws to their faces. |
