It is not known exactly where this dark, huge creature, woven from darkness, roots, snow and ice, came from. But wherever it appeared, winter dragged on for long, long months, the undergrowth froze, and the birds did not return to their native land for a long time. The motionless heavy wings covered the earth, blocking out the sun's rays, and the quiet icy breath froze entire rivers. The paws of this creature cracked as it leaned on them - still water rested under the transparent ice of the fingers. However, this creature is not evil. It is not good either. It is detached, impartial, ephemeral. To draw attention to themselves, people went out into the forest with bright gifts in the form of sweets, ribbons and toys, and danced around the ice giant. Then, from the noise and whistling, the otherworldly winter creature lifted its heavy eyelids.

ETYMOLOGY - The one around whom the round dance is dancing, or the one that leads the round dance (feminine). In the traditional sense - a Russian folk rag doll.
