A Mirror of white colors paced back and forth around her cave, almost stepping on one of her younglings' tails. The sun was about to reach over the mountains in the distance, and she growled in her throat. Just the day before she'd been visited by an old friend of hers asking for one of her hachlings by sunrise the next day. He'd saved her from a deep pit when she was younger, but he wasn't a friendly Mirror, and wanted one of her newborns as payback for his kindness.
One of the hatchlings stirred in her sleep, the only one of the Mirror's young who carried on her stunning white colors. The other three were all variations of dark colors, as most Mirrors are.
A Mirror, her mate, stirred a little farther back in the cave, and at once saw her pacing and remembered about the problem. He wondered over to her, trying to act as none sleepy as possible, and stifled a yawn. He draped a large wing over top her.
"It's going to be ok, Sonda," he comforted, but this didn't seem to help.
"But it's not, Paize! Daizor's coming no matter what, and we'll have to give him one of our young!" Sonda cried. Paize sighed and looked down at the hatchlings. All of them were perfectly fine Mirrors except the white one. Not only did she have unusual colors, one of her wings was deformed, and she'd never be able to fly. Sonda knew this as well, and knew that she'd probably have to be the one they gave to Daizor.
There was a scruffling in front of their cave, and a large Mirror stepped into their lair. He had many battle scars from being out in the world, and was missing one eye. He stood expectantly, knowing that he didn't have to tell them anything. Sonda and Paize stood in front of their sleeping children, and Sonda growled. Paize was much larger than Sonda, but Daizor was bigger still, a towering Mirror of dark green and black colors. He scoweled and with one, mighty fling of his tail, whipped Sonda out of the way. Then he lunged at Paize and knocked him backwards. Paize stretched his tail around the three dark colored hatchlings, leaving the white one completely out in the open. They opened their eyes and looked around, scared.
"NO!" Sonda shrieked, but Daizor grabbed the white youngling and, with a roar that shook their whole cave, burst off into the sky, red with the rising sun - like dragon blood.

Roara lashed her tail at Daizor's feet, but it hit him with a thud and hurt Roara most. He fake lunged at her, making Roara fall back and trip on his long tail. He put his claws on her chest.
"Weak. Helpless. Grrrrr..." He growled, and tramped back to their camp. Roara flipped over and sighed, aching. She then turned around and looked out across Sornieth. It was wide, and vast... Roara longed to fly above it all, and she looked at her short, stubby, left wing helplessly. She'd had a smaller, useless wing since she was born, Daizor told her. Roara figured that's why he despised her so much. Daizor didn't care one bit that Roara hated him, as well. He told her how he'd stolen her from her family without hesitation, and how he only took her because her parents managed to protect her siblings.

Suddenly a figure appeared in the distance, flying towards her at a high speed. She realized that the dragon wasn't going to stop, and managed to jump out of the way just in time. The dragon smashed into the ground and immediately started bellowing fire. Roara jumped upon a rock and dashed behind a boulder. She noticed that the Mirror was white, like her. Daizor came into the clearing, saw the out-of-control dragon, and smirked, whipping his tail back and forth.
"Sonda. So we meet again?" he growled. Sonda snarled. "Where's that husband of yours? Paize, was it?"
"Paize is dead. He died not long after you attacked us," Sonda roared, and lunged at Daizor. He knocked her back with a measly bash of his head. Roara had a fleeting thought. Could this be my mother? Daizor laughed menacingly.
"Is that so? And what about those hatchlings of yours?"
"Old enough to be on their own. Where's my daughter?" Roara stepped from behind the boulder, and Sonda gasped as she saw her.
"Oh, my - " Sonda was interrupted by an attack of Daizor. She lunged back, looked at Roara with fearful eyes, and yelled, "Run! then whipped Daizor with her tail. Roara leapt off the plateau, and found three more Mirrors below. They took one look at her, and roared in happiness.
"Sister!" the smallest and only girl shrieked, and lunged upon her. A bigger one eyed her.
"Where's mother?"

For the next many years, Roara stuck with her two brothers and sister. She found that they weren't much less... evil, than Daizor. They killed without thinking, laughed at weaklings, and tended to look down on Roara because she was the youngest and had a deformed wing. The female, the oldest of her siblings, was named Mire. The other two were males, the elder being named Claive and the other Hapsiel. They were all variations of dark colors, unlike here, completely. Soon they created their own clan, and called themselves the Dusk Reapers.

One day, they came upon a forest and not long after an empty lair, and Roara's siblings claimed it without hesitation... and without Roara's opinion. When the owner came back, a dark Guardian, they chased him away. Roara finally decided that she'd had enough of her siblings' madness when they went searching for the Guardian and captured him, trying to force him to expand "their" lair. Roara helped the Guardian escape, an together they chased Mire, Claive, Hapsiel, and their friends (for they had collected more clan members over time) away, and reclaimed the lair for Shaidod... for both of them.
