~The Pint-Sized Fighter~
Backstory
Shrike's egg was found by Condor while on a search for chemical components. Condor had flown all the way to the northern tip of the Southern Icefields to find some rare minerals, and when he returned, he brought Shrike's egg with him. Upon hatching, Shrike was far more feisty than either a fae dragon or an ice dragon normally was. He was an energetic hatchling, often running or flying around the lair at top speed in pursuit of his clanmates. Hyra and Kaz, his surrogate parents, noticed he was also more rough-and tumble than other fae dragons, preferring physical attacks to magical attacks, despite the impairments inherent to his size. Other fae hatchlings his age often picked on him because of his fighting style and his expressive tone of voice. Shrike didn't pay attention to their taunts most of the time, and when he did, he made sure they knew he wasn't someone to be trifled with. As an adolescent, he perfected a specialized attack technique that used ice to extend his reach and increase his size, which enabled him to successfully attack creatures many time his size. He uses this skill to great effect in battle alongside his clanmates.
Personality
Shrike lacks the monotone voice that most fae dragons possess, though he is proficient in their frill signals. He is a lively and expressive dragon. He enjoys battling, and has no problem picking fights with creatures several times his size. Other fae dragons have been known to criticize him because of his differences, and though Shrike mostly ignores them, every so often he decides to teach them a lesson. He's capable of handing out quite a beating to those who annoy him. Shrike is intensely curious about the stoic Aussir, the only other ice dragon in the clan, and idolizes his fighting prowess.
